When it comes to the L2 van, we are probably the only ones offering such a comprehensive conversion solution for extended cab vans.
There are 2 possible scenarios:
1) Trafic 3 L2H1 extended cabs:
You must have at least 184cm between the cabin and the rear doors of the van
- If your wheel arches are visible, you can use our "wheel arch" boxes designed for this purpose, offering more conversion possibilities for your extended cab van

But normally there are 3 possibilities:
1) Trafic 3 L1H1 folding extended cabs:
The length between the cabin (once folded) and the back of the vehicle must be at least 184cm
We have 2 kits for the Trafic 3 folding extended cab, one with a dinette and the other without.

What is an extended cab utility vehicle?
Practical for couples with children to travel together thanks to the rear seats, the Renault Trafic extended cab can be a good utility vehicle solution.
Also, the extended cab Trafic is considered a mixed transport vehicle (materials and individuals) and thus benefits from VAT exemption for professionals (when the transport of people is justified).
Currently, the extended cab Trafic is not subject to the ecological penalty or the TVS like double cab pickups, which are losing popularity as a result.
There are 3 types of extended cabs:
Fixed extended cab Trafic:
This is the most common case. You have a 3-seat rear bench with a proper separation between the rear area for transporting goods and this space for transporting people.
Folding extended cab Trafic:
The folding extended cab Trafic offers the same advantages as the fixed extended cab but also provides the option to fold the cabin to increase the loading space for goods at the back of the van.
When unfolded, the rear bench will accommodate 3 additional seats.
Removable extended cab Trafic:
The removable extended cab Trafic allows you to maximize the rear space of the vehicle when transporting goods. However, you will need to choose between transporting people or having significant loading space at the back since the second option requires removing the cabin first.
What is the best extended cab van/utility vehicle?
Most vehicle brands offer extended cab vans.
Our kits are compatible with all extended cab utility vehicles.
Therefore, we do not have any specific recommendation for the model. Indeed, our extended cab conversion kit will fit any utility vehicle you already own.
If you don’t own one yet, the extended cab Trafic is a good model as it offers significant width, which means comfort for your future van conversion.
Conversion for 5 or 6 seat extended cab van?
The rear bench usually adds 3 extra seats.
You will thus have 5 or 6 seats depending on the seats at the front of the vehicle. Indeed, the passenger seat can be converted into a 2-seat bench to make it a 6-seat extended cab van.
