Van Conversion by Citroën
The Citroën brand offers several converted vans, notably the "Citroenist" in collaboration with Pössl (converters for various van brands like Fiat, Mercedes, Peugeot, Citroën…) or the Citroën Type Holidays which debuted in 2023 with a price reaching up to €90,000!
We will focus on the Citroën camper van series named Campster, based on the Jumpy Spacetourer (still in partnership with Pössl). With removable seats, the Campster accommodates 2 to 7 seats. This Citroën converted van comes with a side kitchen (with stove and water reserves) and two double beds, as in addition to the rear double bed, there is also a rooftop tent with a double bed for extra sleeping space.
In this Citroën van, you can opt for individual seats to fit bikes or other sports equipment, or choose a 2 or 3-seater bench that converts into a bed. The front seats swivel to allow 4 people to eat at the table.
What is the price of a Campster?
The price starts from €50,000 without options! The price quickly increases depending on the options chosen.
In summary, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the Citroën Campster converted van?
Advantages:
- A pop-up roof with an additional bed of 110x190cm.
- The vehicle remains easy to drive as it's a Jumpy model, no extra toll charges, and it fits into 2m parking garages (the van is 1.99m high).
- 2 to 7 seats depending on the number of seats chosen, which is great for large families.
- Everything you need to be self-sufficient: stove and water reserves, plus extras like a cooler or stationary heater.
- Swivel seats and 2 double beds.
Disadvantages:
- Justifying the cost is difficult if travel isn't frequent.
- Prices increase with selected options, like heating, color choices, cooler, or bench options.
- Moving the bench may be difficult, requiring some force, and the lack of markers can require repeating the action multiple times.
- Although the bed length is adequate, the width disappoints in these converted vans, especially with the kitchen and water reserves placed on the left side of the Citroën van (110 cm at the top and bottom).
- Accessing the upper bed is complex without a ladder.
- This converted van is only useful for vanlife; the conversion cannot be removed in 5 minutes to turn the van back into a utility vehicle for daily use.
Which is the best Citroën converted van?

This removable solution concept works on Berlingo, Jumpy, and Jumper. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to install the kit in your van and hit the road for an adventure to some of the most beautiful landscapes with freedom. You can later remove it completely to use your Citroën van as a standard utility vehicle. Our modules screw directly onto the flooring with butterfly screws (only by hand, no tools needed). We made an appointment, Mathieu welcomed us warmly and showed us around the workshop, then we went to the selection area to recap and make the quote. We had all the necessary technical explanations as well as his advice and feedback. The guy is sincere and super professional. Our choice validated, he helped us throughout the time needed to set up the modules. Again, lots of advice and tips, thanks to him.
