Fits on Volkswagen Transporter Caravelle/Multivan/Combi
Some vans, like the Volkswagen Transporter, are equipped with a rear bench, sometimes with a partition separating the front of the vehicle (driver's seat and passenger seats) from the converted space in the back, optimizing the conversion and interior space.
The tourism model is available in several finishes, including:
- The Combi, simply finished, which can be used as a van or bus to carry up to 9 passengers.
- The Multivan, better finished inside, equipped with removable benches or seats that can slide on rails embedded in the floor. Some seats are rotatable.
- The Caravelle, intermediate between the Multivan and the Combi, with non-sliding benches.

Also fits on extended cab Transporters
The utility version has only 2 or 3 seats at the front, usually with a partition separating the back.
The utility model also comes in 5 or 6 seats; they are called "extended cab" and are available in 3 types:
- Fixed extended cabs with fixed seats and a fixed partition at the back.
- A removable rear bench with or without a partition.
- Independent removable rear seats, sliding or not.
In these extended cab vehicles, we can install a sleeping space of 1.58 meters wide by 1.84 meters long only if the Length is: L2.

Which Transporter should you buy for a van conversion?
It all depends on your taste and your needs:
If you rarely go to city, the L2 version will give you more space. If you frequently visit the city, then stick with an L1 for easier parking.
If you prefer well-finished and equipped vehicles, choose the Multivan or Caravelle model for a camper van ideal for camping.
When your priority is multi-use, meaning a vehicle that can carry many passengers while also being used to transport professional gear, you'll have several options. Go for the Combi to carry up to nine passengers; or choose an extended cab utility for a maximum of 6 passengers.
If you want to occasionally convert your Volkswagen Transporter Diesel (auto or manual transmission) into a camper van, go for removable benches or chairs.
Lastly, if you always travel with 2 or 3 people, choose the utility version for the most affordable van conversion kit (lower price).

What's the price of a converted Transporter?
By choosing the Combeing solution, you opt for a modular van conversion, designed and manufactured in France with high-quality materials. The average price is around €3,500, but the price varies depending on the finishes, options, and accessories selected when configuring your converted Volkswagen Transporter.
Unlike motorhomes or fixed van conversions, which range between €60,000 and €90,000 (California, Westfalia…), our modular concept offers a much more affordable alternative. This kit allows you to travel while optimizing the space and comfort of your vehicle.

Designed in every detail by Volkswagen, this iconic California van offers an optimized layout with numerous options and equipment: fully equipped kitchen, comfortable sleeping, folding table, retractable roof, clever storage spaces, and even an outdoor shower. A true reference in the camping world, the Transporter California is available from €84,000 fully equipped at Volkswagen.

Used converted Transporter?
One option available is to purchase a used Volkswagen Transporter (check ads) with low mileage (or high) and install our Combeing conversion. This solution is entirely removable and modular with many compositions.
When changing your diesel Transporter van (auto or manual transmission), you can sell the converted vehicle or keep your kit and use it on your next van, with only the floors potentially being modified.

Adjust your sleeping space according to your needs
With the patented Combeing concept, you no longer need to worry if the sleeping space will be big enough. The proposed length is 184 cm; but it can be extended to 2.10 m for taller people.
If I travel alone, I would like to make space for my bike; so a single bed of 53 or 79 cm wide will be enough. I can sleep peacefully with my bike inside the converted van, as it's safe from theft.

And if I travel with my best friend, I don't necessarily want to share my bed with them! So, with the kit, I can set up 2 separate bunks in my converted Transporter.

But when traveling as a couple, we enjoy luxury! A Queen-size bed of nearly 160 cm wide (wider than in a California, for example). Sleeping space is truly a luxury when two people share a small volume. It's even possible to sleep 3 adults on a 160 cm wide bed.
